Urban Idyll
The Browncroft Neighborhood
Drive or walk along Browncroft Boulevard in any season and you'll surely be stunned, soothed—or both!—by the magnificent mature sycamore trees that line the street. In the summer, these trees shade you in a grand canopy that arches overhead. Equally stunning are the houses and yards that line Browncroft Boulevard. Four hundred houses in the neighborhood are in the City's Browncroft Historic District andare on the National Register of Historic Places. Adjacent are the shops, cafes, and services of the North Winton Village; a minute's drive to the west over the city line is Ellison Park, one of the natural jewels of the entire region. A cozy triangular park at Merchants and Browncroft place you amidst the sycamores and beckons in all four seasons.
