Who we are, and what we do
RochesterCityLiving has been your resource for learning about Rochester living and city homes since 1998. A program of The Landmark Society of Western New York, RochesterCityLiving continually strives to be a comprehensive and clear resource for people anywhere along the spectrum of interest in city living. Anchored by the RochesterCityLiving.com web site, RochesterCityLiving also:
- Publishes the HomeWork home-of-the-week column in CITY Newspaper, a publication with a circulation of over 100,000 that is available weekly at over 900 locations around Greater Rochester
- Provides training to real estate professionals about city neighborhoods and architectural history/styles
- Offers city neighborhood tours and other tours as a partner with the Landmark Society, such as the exciting Inside Downtown Tour; and as a partner with the City of Rochester on their annual City Living Sundays program
- Provides custom assistance to prospective (and existing!) city dwellers
For our first several years, RochesterCityLiving operated the Home Room, a physical space at the Landmark Society's headquarters at 133 South Fitzhugh Street in the historic Corn Hill neighborhood. This space was open to those interested in Rochester neighborhoods and homes. With the rapid rise of the internet as the primary tool for all research, the number of visitors to the Home Room dwindled, as the number of visits to RochesterCityLiving.com increased dramatically.
Given this shift in the public's preferences for research, the Home Room is now primarily a virtual, rather than a physical place. Therefore, The Home Room is anchored by this site, RochesterCityLiving.com. The RochesterCityLiving.com web site is a "24-hour employee" to you as you explore city living.
Special thanks to Greater Rochester Association of Realtors, Stantec Corporation, Rochester Management, and Stern Properties for their recent contributions to the RochesterCityLiving initiative.
